Boyzone upset over new album
Boyzone's Mikey Graham has revealed that the band became emotional in studio recently while recording their new album, when they heard former bandmate Stephen Gately's voice.
According to The Star, the band were working on a track called 'I Gave it all Away', written by Mika, on which Gately had recorded lead vocals.
Writing on his Twitter page, Graham said: "The new song is amazing. Stephen does one of the best vocals ever on it. We really struggled though when we heard his voice again."
He added: "I love this album so much. All going well it should be out March 8. The single is released one week beforehand but radio should be playing it by January 8 or so."
Ronan Keating confirmed that the album will include a trio of tracks featuring Gately's voice: "Stephen is on three of the songds we'd already recorded. It's a wonderful record; it's the best I heard him sing.
"I think people are going to be quite excited about it. It's going to be big, please God, for Steo."

Ceberano to team up with Ronan Keating
KATE Ceberano is looking forward to creating new music in 2010 with the help of Irish music sensation Ronan Keating.
After more than 20 years in the music business and 20 albums, Ceberano, 43, is far from slowing down.
Next year, she will travel to the UK to work on original music with Europe-based Aussies including Alex Lloyd, as well as Keating.
"I love that bloke, he's such a good guy," Ceberano told AAP.
"I'm looking forward to going to Ireland because I've never been to Ireland. I'm really looking forward to hanging out with him and getting to understand the culture over there.
"He's a really good songwriter, and he's massive over there."
Ceberano and Keating realised they had a rapport dueting on the song It's Only Christmas for her first Christmas album Merry Christmas.
"The most perfect part about it is that I think our voices really suit each other," Ceberano said.
Merry Christmas has already reached gold status, and Ceberano said it had given her a lot of confidence.
"That's the first gold album I've had in a long time, so I'm thrilled about that," she said.
Ceberano, one of Australia's most prominent Scientologists, said she loved the festive season and wanted to create a broad-based Christmas album for all people.
She added it was dedicated to her five-year-old daughter Gypsy.
"We're multicultural, multi-religious, multi-demographic ... right now it's about the broader sense of Christmas and songs my daughter can sing along too," Ceberano said.
"When you have a kid in the house, it suddenly brings Christmas back to you again."
The album features songs such as Jingle Bells, White Christmas, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
Ceberano said she was excited about next year, and with her daughter getting older it allowed her to concentrate on her music career.
"I just love the fact I'm allowed to have a life in song and a life in music, and I love the lifestyle that comes with it," she said.
"I'm excited about 2010."

Ronan Keating faces tough Christmas without Stephen
Ronan Keating has spoken about his first Christmas without fellow Boyzone member Stephen Gately, who died from a pulmonary odema in October.
Speaking to Closer magazine, the singer revealed: "It's going to be hard, because we always saw each other at some point over the Christmas holidays. It's going to be tough not having him around."
But he has arranged a Boxing Day knees up for the rest of the band, in memory of their pal. He said: "We normally meet up on Boxing Day, which is also called St Stephen's Day in Ireland, so we're planning a little get together that day. We keep each other strong by being around each other."
Dad of three Ronan says losing Stephen in such tragic circumstances has made him appreciate his family more than ever. He told he magazine: "I just want to see the kids grow up. That's my wish. Stephen's death has put everything in perspective and taught me that life is short and fragile.
"You have to tell your loved ones that you love them every day because you never know what's around the corner."

Boyzone star Ronan Keating: I'm finding it tough without my dear friend Stephen Gately
BOYZONE star Ronan Keating yesterday told how he is still finding every day tough since Stephen Gately's death.
The singer has a great relationship with Scots fans and he can't wait to launch his UK tour, which includes a date at Glasgow's Clyde Auditorium on February 19.
But despite looking forward to playing live, the singer admits that every day without Stephen is a struggle.
He said: "We're just trying to rally around one another to get through it."
And while his latest dates will act as a kind of therapy, Ronan admits Christmas is going to be difficult this year.
He told this week's Closer magazine: "It's going to be hard, because we always saw each other at some point over the Christmas holidays."
Ronan, 32, has decided to turn his sorrow into something more positive by arranging a BoxingDay knees-up for the rest of the band in memory of their pal.
He said: "We normally meet on Boxing Day, which is called St Stephen's Day in Ireland. So we're planning a little get-together that day."
Since Stephen's death, Ronan says the band have been in constant contact, helping each other through the hard days.
He said: "The only way to get through this is to look after each other. We're always on the phone to each other, we go for dinner and make sure we keep our minds occupied."
The singer, married to model Yvonne, reckons Stephen's death has made him appreciate his family more than ever.
As a father of three - Jack,10, Marie, eight, and Ali, four - he added: "I just want to be able to watch the kids grow up. That's my wish.
"Stephen's death has put everything into perspective and taught me that life is fragile.
"You have to smile every day, laugh every day and tell your loved ones you love them every day because you never know what's round the corner."
Closer is on sale tomorrow (Tuesday).

Ronan moves into top gear to take on new pal Clarkson in race challenge
CAR STAR: Boyzone idol plans action replay after jeep drama in new DVD
UNEXPECTED pals Jeremy Clarkson and Ronan Keating are set to go head-to-head at Mondello Park in the near future.
The Herald can reveal the Top Gear presenter and the Boyzone star set themselves the daredevil challenge of racing at the Kildare driving circuit after the singer appeared in Clarkson's new DVD, Duel.
The scenes, which were shot last August, see Clarkson take on Ronan, along with newsreader Kate Silverton and rugby player Matt Dawson, all of whom stepped up to an off-road challenge.
During filming, dad-of-three Ronan got more than he bargained for when the back windows of the jeep he was driving shattered into pieces.
"Look at me, I'm flying. I just smashed the back window," he said.
Clarkson went on to explain how Duel also features a terrible accident with a Morris Marina and a piano and jokes that "everything else explodes, including Ronan Keating".
As a result, Clarkson promised Ronan a rematch when he and his television co-stars James May and Richard Hammond returned to Dublin this weekend with their Live show at the RDS.
However, Ronan will not be here to take up the challenge, as he and remaining Boyzone members, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham have just returned to work following the tragic death of their bandmate, Stephen Gately. The group recorded their first single without their late pal earlier this week, with Ronan describing it as a "tough and emotional day".
"Ronan and Jeremy are hoping to arrange something and get to Mondello for a day soon," said a source.
"They're actually quite friendly with one another, they meet regularly at different events and Ronan was delighted to take him up on the offer of taking part in the DVD. He's also eager to take on Jeremy in a rematch, as soon as they can find a time that suits them both.
"Jeremy was hoping they might be able to plan something when he was over in Dublin for the Live tour but they couldn't co-ordinate times at all," they added.
The group are said to have particularly hit it off last year when Top Gear raced from Switzerland to Blackpool in Britain in order to turn on the Christmas lights, with Boyzone performing live at the event.
Speaking about the newly released DVD, Clarkson explained that he had thoroughly enjoyed working with Ronan, but admitted the singer wouldn't be leaving Boyzone to join the Top Gear crew anytime soon.
"It's just my DVD, the other two aren't in it. I like to think of it as a contribution to my kitchen extension. Yes, he [Ronan] is in it. He was great to work with. I think he'll be staying with Boyzone though. "I don't really like to talk about the DVD too much," he added.

Ronan Keating sees interviews as therapy
Ronan Keating isn’t annoyed to talk about the death of his band member Stephen Gately all the time. I see it as therapy.
One time it is more difficult than the other, but I see it as some kind of therapy, tells Keating on Monday to Novum news.
The Irish star is Sunday and Monday in the Netherlands to promote his new album ‘winter songs. The Christmas album is full with covers of Keating favourite winter songs. I love the winter. This is the most wonderful time of the year for me. On the cd you can hear Gately in the song ‘little drummer boy’. This is one of his most beautiful songs. I can’t listen to it myself, that is too heavy for me.
The artist begins his solo tour on the 16th of January. Keating goes solo again for the first time since 2004. I find it scary. I am so used to be on stage with the Boyzone members. I have to do it on my own again.
The 32 year old Keating doesn’t know if Boyzone will ever go on tour again. We don’t know what the future will bring. We still can’t believe it that our friend has died.
Gately died on the 10th of October on holiday on Majorca. The 33 year old singer died after a night out, a friend found him the day after.

Five documentary seeks songwriters to pen Eurovision entry
Songwriters are being given the chance to pen an entry for the Eurovision Song Contest as part of a documentary being made for Five.
The documentary follows Justin Lee Collins’ attempts to persuade a country to let him sing for them in the contest, and is calling on songwriters to pen an entry that could be performed if he is selected.
Only some countries allow foreigners to enter for them, and the documentary will follow Collins’ efforts in Spain, Ireland, Romania, Latvia and Estonia.
Ronan Keating has already vowed to write the song for Collins if he is chosen to represent Ireland. However, Collins will choose his favourite entry from all those who submit songs if he is chosen to represent one of the other countries.
Eurovision Song for Justin, which is being made by Tiger Aspect, will include interviews with previous performers, the British winners and losers and explore the history of the competition.
Songs submitted must be in English, and must not have had a public performance.
Interested applicants should send a demo CD and lyric sheet, as well as contact details and their nationality, to Corinne Brown, 5 Soho Square, London, W1D 3QA.

Star-studded turnout at tribute night for Stephen
AN evening of music and tributes was held in London's West End in memory of Boyzone star Stephen Gately.
Celebrities from the world of showbusiness, including his bandmates, turned out for the memorial concert last night.
Fans gathered in the rain for the event, organised by Gately's civil partner Andrew Cowles.
The Dubliner's bandmates Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, Keith Duffy and Shane Lynch looked solemn and did not stop to speak to waiting press as they went into the Palace Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue.
Among the celebrities on the red carpet were Duncan James and Lee Ryan from Blue, Chesney Hawkes, actor Leslie Phillips, Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli and Cherie Blair, the wife of former British prime minister Tony.
Gately's family and partner also attended.
The 33-year-old died of natural causes due to a pulmonary oedema on October 10 at his holiday home on the island of Majorca.
Hawkes said he was still in a "daze" after Gately's death.
He said: "I spent a lot of time with him over the summer, got to know him quite well. We worked together quite a lot writing songs. He has become a friend.
"I am just still walking around in a daze really -- such a shock, so young, so vibrant, such a lovely guy. It's just so sad."
Tonioli said he had become friends with Gately through the showbusiness industry and paid tribute to what he managed to achieve in his short life.
"He was a very, very nice guy. He was the kindest, sweetest, most generous kid," he said.
Among the audience was comedian Alan Carr, model and radio presenter Lisa Snowdon and ice skaters Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill.
Shayne Ward, who won the second series of X Factor, sang To Where You Are, which he dedicated to Gately. Other performers included Liz McClarnon and Beverley Knight while a string of stars including Graham Norton and Ian McKellen said a few words in his memory.
